UK Research and Innovation (UKRI) will shortly announce funding opportunities for new Turing Artificial Intelligence (AI) World-Leading Researcher Fellows.

This further investment to double the number of Turing AI World-Leading Researcher Fellows was announced by Chancellor Rishi Sunak following the success of the first five fellows announced last year.

These prestigious fellowships will help to retain and attract some of the best international research talent in AI, as outlined in the national AI strategy.

Leaders are able to apply for a Global Talent visa.

AI pioneers

The Turing AI Fellowships are named after AI pioneer Alan Turing.

The fellowships are part of the UK’s commitment to further strengthen its position as a global leader in the field and increase the UK’s competitive advantage and capability in the field.
