Matrix, the Northern Ireland Science Industry Panel is to partner AICon 2021, the ground-breaking artificial intelligence conference which is returning to Belfast for a hybrid event on Friday 3 December.
Taking place at Titanic Belfast, the conference has been curated by Matrix Panel member and Kainos’ Director of Innovation Tom Gray and throughout the day a select group of experts from across industry, academia and government will examine a diverse range of topics related to AI, including the role the technology can play in everything from reducing carbon emissions to improving security in the banking sector and how to scale an AI start-up to its ethical, philosophical and moral implications.
Speakers at the event include Courtney Lewis and Daniel Browne of the award winning Belfast based FinTech firm Datactics, Edward McDonnell, the Director of the CeADAR Centre in Dublin who will discuss the work of Ireland’s Centre for Applied AI and also draws on international experience as Marianne Jansson Bjerkman, Cluster Leader, Cluster for Applied AI, Smart Innovation Norway discusses Building a Leading Eco System for Applied AI. In the afternoon, a number of panel discussions, including “Applied AI – Where does the Journey Start?”, “Trust and AI Introduction” and “Building and AI Capability” will feature contributions from, amongst others, Matrix Panel members Tom Gray and Dr Rachel Gawley.
