Matrix has been accepted as an Associate Member of the Foundation for Science and Technology, a UK charity providing an impartial platform for debate of policy issues that have a science, research, technology or innovation element.

Established in 1977, the Foundation brings together brings together Parliamentarians, civil servants, industrialists, researchers, learned societies, charities and others with an interest in the science and technology sectors. It produces a regular blog and podcast series as well as hosting insightful and thought-provoking events focussed on promoting science and technology as a major economic driver, with input from highly respected industry experts and policy makers.

Part of Matrix’ role is to act as the voice of technology-based industry and to provide advice to government, academia and the wider business community on matters relating to the commercialisation of our science and research base. As the first Northern Ireland organisation to join the Foundation, Matrix will be able to provide the Foundation with first hand insight on issues that affect the Northern Ireland science and technology sectors.

“It also gives us insight into how the other nations and regions of the UK are innovating and how we in Northern Ireland can learn from and build upon these successes in growing our own economy.”
