Over the last 12 weeks The NHSx Skunkworks partnered with Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and Accelerated Capability Environment (ACE) partners, Polygeist to explore the question can machine learning help us to identify patients who are at risk of long term stay? Long term stay is when a patient stays in hospital for more than 21 days.
The AI Lab Skunkworks works on Demonstrating the potential of AI through proofs-of-concepts and upskilling the workforce through a knowledge-sharing model. We help healthcare organisations apply AI to their problems through rapid, agile, iterative projects. By running an open call, we help develop proofs of concepts through a 12 week process usually helped by a supplier. We’re excited to present the results of our last project.
