Vision for the Built Environment

The central purpose of this Vision is to secure better outcomes from the built environment for the long term. The built and natural environment are complex systems which are essential for citizens’ health, wellbeing and resilience. This report examines the enablers to create a future built environment which serves both humans and nature, using the opportunities of systems-thinking and digitalisation to address the climate emergency, habitat loss and resource depletion. Going forward, the aim is to turn the Vision into policy, strategy and action across industries which serve the built environment.
