Matrix and the Secretariat are delighted to see that Rob Grundy, former Chair of Matrix, has been awarded an MBE in the King’s Birthday Honours for his outstanding contributions to science, technology, and innovation policy development.
Rob joined Matrix in 2012 and became Chair in 2018. During his tenure, he led significant initiatives that bridged the gap between science and industry. Rob’s efforts in policy-making have shaped Northern Ireland’s economic future, ensuring that science and technology remain integral to the region’s development. His work with Matrix has not only influenced local policy but also represented Northern Ireland on a national and global stage, highlighting the region’s capabilities in science and innovation.
Although Rob concluded his tenure as Chair of Matrix this year, his legacy of collaboration and innovation continues to inspire.
