Following on from the successful six STEM supplements over the last 3 years both in the Belfast Telegraph in September 2013, 2014, 2015 and the Irish News & News Letter February 2014, 2015, 2016, Catalyst Inc (formerly the Northern Ireland Science Park) in partnership with Matrix, the NI Science Panel, are planning to have a seventh STEM Courses and Careers supplement of approximately 24 pages in the Belfast Telegraph of 20th September 2016.
All of the previous STEM Courses and Careers Supplements can be accessed at http://stemni.org/2015/05/fourth-stem-supplement-published/
These supplements help businesses to get the message, to parents, teachers and students, about the great opportunities in STEM that exist in Northern Ireland.
The new supplement will be published at a crucial time of the year, when Year 14 students choose their courses and routes into tertiary education. It is obviously very important that young people are encouraged to consider applying for STEM courses and the more information they have about possible career and course options in the STEM area the better.
The STEM Supplement will be set against the context of the importance of the STEM industries to the local economy and the importance of increasing the numbers of skilled workers with Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) qualifications.
We would like to profile individual post–holders in STEM posts, as we believe this is a powerful way to help parents and young people understand more about the different and diverse careers across the STEM industries. If you have someone you would like to contribute editorial about, please contact joanne.stuart@catalyst-inc.org or call 028 9073 7880.
