Our Future Health’s Technology Advisory Board is currently recruiting for Board Members, searching for experts in a range of technology areas, the full scope of which is listed on LinkedIn to support the Our Future Health initiative.
Our Future Health will be the UK’s largest-ever health research programme, bringing people together to develop new ways to detect, prevent and treat diseases. We are a charity, supported by the UK Government, in partnership with charities and industry. We work closely with the NHS and with public authorities across all nations and regions of the UK.
Despite big improvements in healthcare in our lifetimes, today millions of people in the UK still live in poor health as they get older. Diseases like cancer, dementia, diabetes, and heart disease affect the lives of many people in our communities. Our goal is to create a world-leading resource for health research, to improve our understanding and spot the patterns of how and why common diseases start, so treatments can begin sooner and be more effective.
Candidate profile
Applicants should be international leaders in the technology areas identified and have a breadth of knowledge across related fields. We welcome applicants from different backgrounds corporate, start-up, charity, public sector, academia and anything in between, and indeed the strength of this board will come from a breadth of experience. We warmly invite candidates from any country to apply, although we’d note that some areas of expertise require knowledge of the UK ecosystem.
Applicants will need to meet the following essential criteria
- A recognised authority within one or more of the areas of technology listed above, with the ability to challenge and advise the Our Future Health team
- A broad network with the ability to source additional advice, expertise and make introductions
- An ability to work effectively within the public sector requirements for accountability and openness, and within financial constraints
- A collaborative and constructive approach, with a commitment to the mission and broad objectives of Our Future Health
Remuneration
We hope that board members will join this group in order to further the Our Future Health mission. As a contribution to their costs, members will be reimbursed at a rate of £150 per meeting attendance plus standard class travel expenses where applicable.
