Announced during the exhibition at the RHS, the MATRIX sponsored award was given to Oakgrove pupils for their examination of how to develop methods to harvest seeds from crops for replanting by farmers in developing countries.
MATRIX sponsors the award to highlight the excellent work being done in Northern Ireland schools in the STEM subjects.
Thirteen schools from Northern Ireland entered 31 separate projects into this year’s competition with projects ranging from investigating the fluoride content of shop bought drinks to the effect of music on completing cognitive tasks.
