The highly successful ISAM Conference 2025 took place at the ICC Belfast | Waterfront Hall | Ulster Hall  (4 – 5 June), bringing together nearly 350 thought leaders and innovators for an inspiring and impactful event on ‘In Orbit Servicing and Manufacturing’.  Organised by the UK Space Agency and Satellite Applications Catapult.

The event covered the build and maintenance of spacecraft and structures in orbit and ways to improve sustainability eg recycling space debris.  Throughout the ISAM event, the panels, presentations, and roundtables were packed with insights, sparking valuable conversations and many connections across the sector with a total of 24 countries being represented.

The Space Scoping Study by Matrix was referenced by Sir Michael Ryan (VP and GM, Spirit AeroSystems), which sets out recommendations to guide the sector into the next phase of growth.  Sir Michael Ryan championed Northern Ireland’s proud engineering heritage and how it is the bedrock and a driving force for the burgeoning global space economy.

Local companies who are actively servicing this growing global sector were exhibiting and in attendance:
ANGOKA, LpeCCP GransdenResonate Testing Ltd KX

Matrix attended as an exhibitor with Invest NI over the 2 days and were one of the sponsors for the ‘Our Fragile Space‘ exhibition which was running alongside the event by Max Alexander a renowned space photographer.  The thought provoking  exhibition tackles the growing issue of space debris.  The exhibition is outdoors at ICC, Belfast and displays until 3 July.
