The European Green Deal and the UK – impact, challenges, and opportunities for collaboration on policy, research, trade, sector decarbonisation, and international development
This conference will examine the European Green Deal and the key priorities for achieving the aim for Europe to be the first climate-neutral continent.
A key focus will be the opportunities and implications for stakeholders in the UK and internationally, including in the areas of business and research collaboration, trade and policy coordination, as well as possible challenges that lie ahead.
Included are keynote sessions with João Vale de Almeida, Ambassador of the European Union to the United Kingdom; Jytte Guteland MEP, Lead Climate Negotiator, European Parliament and Jacquelyn MacLennan, Partner, White & Case – as well as contributions from AECOM; Aldersgate Group; the Connected Places Catapult; the European Space Agency; Melius Homes; National Grid; NFU Scotland; University of York; and Visa Europe.
The conference will be an opportunity for stakeholders to consider the issues alongside key policy officials who are due to attend from BEIS; the CCC; DIT; the FCDO; Defra; Department for the Economy, NI; DfT; DAERA, NI; the Environment Agency, NI; the DWI; NAO; The Scottish Government; and the Welsh Government – as well as parliamentary pass-holders from both Houses of Parliament.
