The Belfast International Homecoming on Thursday 4 November will be the city’s lead green event during COP26.
Focusing entirely on the opportunities of a green transition the Homecoming conference in Titanic Belfast and gala banquet in Belfast City Hall will engage our global diaspora on the path to a net zero economy.
Among the guests at the annual event will be Pekka Timonen, Mayor of Lahti, Finland, EU Green Capital 2021.
Also addressing confernce delegates (virtually) will be Maria Bos, CEO of Plug Inc, a multi-billion dollar Norwegian green hydrogen company, and Assemblyman Mike Cusick, Chair of the Energy Committee in the New York State Legislature.
At the finale dinner in City Hall, Belfast Ambassador Medals will be presented to Friends of Belfast including Shona McCarthy, Director of the Edinburgh Fringe and Alflac NI Managing Director Keith Farley.
Sponsors of the 2021 Homecoming are led by Belfast City Council, Phoenix Natural Gas, Ulster Bank, Belfast Harbour, Ulster University and MRP.
Covid protocols will be observed throughout with proof of vaccination required for attendance and numbers attending capped.
