On 27 October 2016, the Executive agreed the publication of a draft Programme for Government for a period of consultation.
This Programme for Government is different from any before. It is constructed around a framework of wellbeing outcomes, expressing the ambitions of the Executive for everyone in society. It also provides a robust, independent mechanism for transparent measurement and reporting of progress on outcomes, including on how those outcomes are experienced by different people based on their identity.
The outcomes in the framework cannot be delivered by Government acting alone – collaboration and partnership across organisations and across sectors will be an essential component of success.
Delivery plans are being developed which set out the intended approach to making progress on the achievement of outcomes, including collaboration across sectors. Senior officials responsible for these plans are continuing to engage with stakeholders on their development. The current drafts are available from links within the Programme for Government consultation document, and they include contact details for the owners to enable direct engagement as the plans continue to evolve.
An online survey has been constructed to gather views on the Programme for Government. This is intended to be the primary route for responses, and an analysis of responses received through this route will inform the development of the document. You can contribute your views here:
If you are unable to respond through this route, you can also contact the Programme for Government Team directly. Contact details are included in the consultation document.
