The Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation has published a consultation paper for a successor to the Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation.
The document sets out some background to a range of issues, around eight key pillars, to be considered in the formulation of a new strategy:
- Investment in STI and key goals/targets
- Prioritised Approach to Public Research Funding
- Enterprise-level R&D and Innovation Performance
- International collaboration and engagement
- Organisational/ Institutional arrangements to enhance research excellence and deliver jobs
- World class IP regime and dynamic systems to transfer Knowledge and Technology into jobs
- Government wide goals on innovation in key sectors for job creation and societal benefit
- Research for knowledge and the development of human capital
At the end of each chapter, there are key questions for consideration in the development of the new strategy.
