The Small Business Research Initiative provides the public sector with innovative solutions to problems that will drive improvement, and allows suppliers to develop products and services working collaboratively with the public-sector, enabling them to develop new skills, expertise and markets.
Any public sector organisation may apply for SBRI funding. Projects will only be funded where there is a demonstrable need for an innovative solution or product, and where there is no suitable product or solution already available on the market.
In this information session, experts from the Department for the Economy will explain the process of developing an SBRI challenge and they types of issues that have been overcome in the past using the initiative, such as recent projects that have developed optimised the treatment of water and waste water, provided assistance with post stroke rehabilitation, improved the monitoring of road condition, and allowed for the detection of cattle and sheep remotely.
This event is open to all public sector bodies in Northern Ireland, including NICS Departments, Arm’s Length Bodies and Local Authorities and will be of particular interest to procurement professionals.
