SUMMARY:Power Up - An Engineer's Adventure into Sustainable Energy
DESCRIPTION:We rarely think about the energy systems that prop up our existence. With hot water\, lighting and digital entertainment all available at the flick of a switch\, it’s easy to underestimate the vast global network that makes these things possible. \nGrowing up in Iraq\, Yasmin Ali regularly experienced power cuts – ironic for a country rich in oil and sunshine. Now as an engineer working in energy\, Yasmin has a deep appreciation for what these resources mean for our lives. \nIn Power Up she takes us on a journey across the globe to reveal the bigger picture\, from solar panel farms shimmering in the desert to power stations hidden deep in the mountains. We discover where we get energy from\, how it is moved and used around the world – and why we need to understand the whole system if we want to transition towards a clean\, green future. \nPower Up is a definitive picture of the intricate world that humanity has built\, and a rallying cry to face the challenges of climate change using the power at our fingertips.

Ever wondered why you get dizzy when you spin? How many senses do you even have? Prepare to be amazed and confounded by sensory and optical illusions in this demo-packed exploration of your brain\, as we discover your senses aren’t quite as simple as they seem… \nHack Your Brain\nA whirlwind introduction to the brain and nervous system! \nPacked with memorable large-scale demos\, you’ll create a giant neuron live on stage to explore how nerve cells communicate. Then\, watch as we hijack those signals to control someone’s movements (preferably a teacher!)! Along the way we’ll investigate what this tells us about how we learn\, helping students to understand their brains better and how to make the most of them. \nEvent Schedule\n\n\n\nThat’s Non Sense (Antrim)\nFriday 17th February 2023\n12:00pm – 1:00pm\nMarket Square\, Antrim\, BT41 4AW\nLink\n\n\nHack Your Brain (Antrim)\nFriday 17th February 2023\n2:30pm – 3:30pm\nMarket Square\, Antrim\, BT41 4AW\nLink\n\n\nThat’s Non Sense (Omagh)\nSaturday 18th February\n12:00pm – 1:00pm\nTownhall Square\, Omagh\, BT78 1BL\nLink\n\n\nHack Your Brain (Omagh)\nSaturday 18th February\n2:30pm – 3:30pm\nTownhall Square\, Omagh\, BT78 1BL\nLink\n\n\nThat’s Non Sense (Armagh)\nSunday 19th February\n12:00pm – 1:00pm\n74-76 Sráid na nGall\, Armagh\, BT61 7LG\nLink\n\n\nHack Your Brain (Armagh)\nSunday 19th February\n2:30pm – 3:30pm\n74-76 Sráid na nGall\, Armagh\, BT61 7LG\nLink\n\n\nThat’s Non Sense (Limavady)\nThursday 16th February 2023\n12:00pm – 1:00pm\n24 Main Street\, Limavady\, BT49 0FJ\nLink\n\n\nHack Your Brain (Limavady)\nThursday 16th February 2023\n2:30pm – 3:30pm\n24 Main Street\, Limavady\, BT49 0FJ\nLink
